Enrik Hüpeden
Biography Enrik Hüpeden was born in 1966 in Hamburg, Germany. He studied painting art at the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe and at the Surikow Instituit in Moscow. He earned his Master Class Diploma of Fine Arts in 1995. From 1996 to 1998 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Düsseldorf. For more than10 years Hüpeden has been concentrating his work as a painter on abstract wall paintings. With these he is creating optical illusions, which gives the exhibition hall and the perceptual image of "room to picture" an irritating accent to the visitor. Following this strong point, which puts the key points of cubism and Op-Art in a new strained relation, he has created a lot of paintings on canvas and other materials over the past years. Similar to the large wall paintings they show a special abstract system of geometric figures in different colours, which also exert an irritating room-feeling to the visitor. Hüpeden has exhibited in Europe and North America and galleries such as Sprungturm, Köln; Walter-Eucken-Schule; Karlsruhe, wallpainting; passing the frame, Halle 10, Köln; Galerie Oberem, Bonn; Galerie Rottloff, Karlsruhe; Walls, Rooms, Ilusions, and Kunstwerk Köln. Hüpeden lives and works in Cologne, Germany. Learn more |
